Traditional Ceremony of the Andes “MESA ANDINA”.
Here are Shaman Alexander’s words: We raise our voice with the consciousness of giving thanks for the sacred, for the honor of having known heaven and earth. It is a ceremony of healing and cleansing, prayer and singing that lasts approximately 5-6 hours, depending on the number of participants. It is a collective healing ceremony through Grandfather Tobacco, Wachuma (San Pedro) and snuff.
This ceremony has two main times, each guided by a main tobacco.
The first tobacco we light is the intention, where we raise the motive that brings us to the ceremony and for which we are willing to take the sacred medicine of our family.
The second tobacco is the Water tobacco that comes with the carnation prayer, which allows us to honor the presence of water in our life, in all the ways it manifests itself. We honor the possibility that life gives us, we honor the purpose of the ceremony, the motives that brought us to it, we pray for the possibility to put our life in order. During the ceremony we receive medicine and we sing, in a deep work with the truth of who we are and what we want to be and do. It is an intimate encounter with oneself.
The purpose is to connect the individual with himself and with the Universe, helping us in this way to find the answers we are needing in our lives, to see our abilities and talents, to confront our fears and to face what lives inside us. This knowledge brings freedom and health to each person, allows us to recognize new aspects of our being and to discover other spaces of consciousness.
There are many purposes for which one can attend this Ceremony: to receive healing, to be well in our heart, to put in order our life and our relationships, to be well in our family and in our relationship with all beings, with everything that surrounds us, to receive instruction, vision, and teaching.
